About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer experienced in both classical and advanced vision AI, including large language models. You'll lead the development of customized object detection algorithms and multimodal data solutions. This role requires applying the latest research in computer vision and deep learning within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Your Responsibilities
Model Development and Deployment:
- Design and implement advanced computer vision algorithms for high-accuracy object detection and recognition, especially for surgical tools and trays.
- Leverage both classical and GPT-based models to develop robust vision solutions, using Python and deploying systems to cloud environments like AWS.
Agile Collaboration:
- Actively participate in agile development, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop, iterate, and refine solutions.
- Contribute to process improvements that align with Scalpel's agile methodology.
Research-Driven Innovation:
- Apply cutting-edge research methodologies to develop highly customized object detection algorithms.
- Experiment with novel approaches, pushing the boundaries of vision AI in healthcare logistics.
Multimodal Data and LLMs:
- Integrate multimodal data sources (e.g., RGB, NIR) to enhance model performance and reliability.
- Utilize large language models (LLMs) to augment vision AI solutions where applicable.
Who We're Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Expertise in Computer Vision: In-depth experience with state-of-the-art object detection, segmentation, and advanced data augmentation techniques.
- Python Proficiency: 4+ years of experience writing production-level code in Python, with familiarity in frameworks like PyTorch, OpenCV, and NumPy.
- Educational Background: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, or 4+ years of industry experience in computer vision.
- Technical Leadership:Demonstrated ability to initiate and lead large-scale technical projects and work with large-scale vision datasets.
Desirable Skills:
- Imaging Modalities: Familiarity with various imaging modalities (e.g., RGB, NIR) to enhance vision model robustness.
- Frameworks and Tools: Proficiency in TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, NumPy, and experience with version control systems like Git.
- Deployment Experience: Hands-on experience deploying CV/ML models in real-world applications, with fast-paced prototype iteration.
