How does Scalpel AI work?

Scalpel uses AI, machine vision, and digital twins to inspect surgical trays with expert-level precision. It overlays instrument-level data directly onto the tray view, guiding technicians through the inspection process in real time. Once a tray is validated, that data doesn't stay stuck, it moves with the tray, connecting OEMs, 3PLs, hospitals, and ASCs into one intelligent, coordinated workflow.

What types of surgical trays do you support?

We currently specialize fixed instrument graphic trays, the kind you commonly see in orthopedics, spine, and other high-precision specialties. These trays are complex, frequently used, and critical to get right. That's where Scalpel delivers the most impact.

Does Scalpel integrate with our existing ERP or instrument tracking system?

Yes. Scalpel is designed to seamlessly integrate with popular instrument tracking systems and ERP platforms. We pull and push data to keep your records in sync. No duplicate entry, no siloed systems.

What kind of hardware or equipment is required?

Scalpel provides everything you need: our machine vision platform, dedicated Scalpel CPUs, and setup support. All you need is a stable workstation, power, and an internet connection. No complex installs. No custom IT buildout. Just plug in and start inspecting.

Is Scalpel cloud-based or on-premise?

Both, Scalpel is a cloud-based platform that has the ability to be installed on-premise if required.

What kind of data does Scalpel capture, and how is it stored?
